PHP, Jobs, cost of living

Whats the point? It means that maybe ZendCon is not the best place in the world to try and hire unless you have something real to offer.
So you got companies like Yahoo, PriceGrabber, IBM and others trying to hire and at some points almost begging for people to apply they are sure to have something to offer right? Move to the silicon valley and if you are a good programmer you can make $65-90K a year easy so it makes sense doesn't it?
No it doesn't and here is why! Cost Of Living!!!!! Want an apartment $1,000 a month, Like wasting hours of time and gallons of gas waiting in traffic you got it! Want to buy a house? You are lucky to get a trailer in the ghetto for under $500k.
The company I work for on the other hand might start you out at $40-60k but you can rent a studio for under $500 or get 1000 sqft for under $700. Want a house, 126 houses available right now under $250k 87 of those are under $150k, and even a few nice new condos for under $75k
No matter where you live in town it will take you less then 10 minutes to get to work, crime rate lower then national average, great schools and you can't here gun shots every night.
Anyway so whats the point? We are currently hiring a system administrator and always looking for programmers that might be interested in a move, if getting out of the valley sounds right give me a holler!
If you are a recruiter, only a stupid person would never leave the door open for discussion but please don't call me up asking me to move to the valley and think throwing in a $2,000 in moving expenses is going to change my mind.
